Peering Through the Trees

Peering Through the Trees

This is a panoramic image, stitched together from two frames, that had about a 50% overlap. The result is a quasi-wide angle perspective, but it probably would have been impossible to get this exact view with only one frame; either the shadow or the tree would wind up looking smaller than it appears here.

On occasion I’ll set out to take a panoramic image, but this was just a happy coincidence. I’d taken separate images focusing on both the tree and the shadow, and couldn’t decide which I preferred – so I went with both.

(Settings for both the original frames)
Exposure: 1/400″
Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 22mm
